We have arrived!

Managed to finish off the packing in time to leave for the airport. Had a lovely meal with Izzy, Clare and Jen the night before we left, not too many insults for a change!

Clare waved us off and we headed to Glasgow. Sappho miaowed all the way to blimin Glasgow. It was so difficult leaving them at the cargo bay. Checked in our luggage and had to pay 120 quid in excess baggage!!

When we sat in the departure lounge I saw our cats on the tarmac in their cage under the plane and that set off the tears. I kept thinking about them and wondering what they were thinking. I felt so sorry for them sitting on that noisy tarmac with engines going etc. When we got on the plane and it took off I was still thinking of them and I had ordered a bottle of champagne for Kate and I to celebrate, when the air hostess came round to ask about the champagne I was in floods of tears again thinking about the cats. What a woose!

Arrived at our new home around 10ish at night, settled down and tried to sleep. Trouble was a new house means lots of new noises. Lost count of how many times we were up and down checking. Alfie settled in the house no problems, Sappho is better today although she is still nervous of any new noises.

Monday the furniture arrived at 7am (not ideal when you have had only a couple of hours sleep) Had to put the sofa in a different location but the rest is fine so we spent most of yesterday unpacking and did not sit outside at all! We received a gorgeous bunch of flowers from my Dad, at the time we had no vases and all the water had stopped coming out the taps! Managed to find a vase upstairs in the storage room and Kate went next door to speak to our neighbour about the water. She came back with this lovely old biddie, we managed to work out that the whole street had been cut off due to building work at the top. Luckily it went back on the next morning. As a wee thank you for her help (and the fact that I had too many flowers for the one vase) I gave her some lillies and foliage from my flowers. Think I have made a friend there!

At night there was an amazing thunderstorm and lots of rain, only we could arrive in Spain and have rain the same day blimin typical.

Today we have come down to the shops to buy cleaning things and ladders and some food....and an auld wifies shopping trolley( not tartan) to save lugging all our shopping up our steep little street. Sitting in the cybercafe having a coffee and catching up with friends when we should really be back at the house unpacking lol.
