New Life

Last night whilst sitting watching a film about Edinburgh (feeling homesick) I heard a cat crying outside. It is not unusual to hear them crying or fighting in the street as there are a lot of wild cats around. It kept on so I went out to investigate and there outside our door was a newborn kitten and I mean newborn by about 5 mins with no sign of the mother. I managed to locate the mother about 10 metres up the street under a car but she had obvously been disturbed when giving birth to the first kitten and had to abandon it. The poor wee kitten was frantically trying to find its mum and was calling loudly and she was calling it but it was too far for it to climb. I got a couple of napkins (so as not to transfer any of my scent onto the kitten and also to avoid getting blood on my hands) and picked the kitten up and placed it as near to the mother as I dared as she was hissing and growling loudly from under the car. By this time my neighbour had come out and ran back in to get some cardboard. We slid the kitten onto the cardboard and managed to use it to get the kitten near enough to the mother. Happy ever after is what I need at 12.30am in the morning.

Wow

Cannot believe it has been 20 days since my last entry! Naughty me. Feria week here was fab had a great time drinking lots of summer drinks, watching parades and visiting the fun fair. Here is a piccie of our nephew Paul enjoing the sunshine at the feria, at least he had his head up from his game boy for a split second so I could take a photo. I have entered this and another photo in the annual Festival photo comp. Don´t know if I will get anywhere (like winning the €200 first prize) but at least I had fun taking part.

Elusive Company

Telefonica are what BT used to be in the UK they are the main telephone provider. To contact them they have two telephone numbers. The one I want is the one with English speakers at the other end. Do they ever answer the blimin phone, do they heck! Will be investigating if I can order internet online from the internet cafe. Missing all my online friends and my skype to talk to friends and family.

Sending off package number two for a card swap. Last one never made it from Southern Spain to Scotland. I love going to the post office...not you spend ages in the queue and when you get to the counter I need to use my best spanish (which at the moment is not the greatest). This time I am armed with a phrasebook which has a special post office section so fingers crossed.

The Coin Feria (festival) starts on Thursday so lots of opportunities to get drunk and have a good time lol. There is a photography comp on the Coin website which I am planning on entering so better charge my camera batteries then.

grrrrrrrrrrr

Back to square one with the internet. We waited in all day for the guys to come and eventually they arrived at 8pm wiht the booster for the arial. They were grumpy and tired and after much mooching decided that they were going to remove the internet from the house as they were not happy to support such a poor signal. I am so mad at both their attitude and their ineptitude. Back to trying to get in touch with telefonica then!
